A Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Management course, organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Sports Training and Development Section in Juffair, was recently underway with 18 coaches from Bahrain in the fray.
The course, which continues until April 2, is the highest of its kind management courses, at the end of which the participants will undergo final exams.
Organised in cooperation with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), the course is designed to equip students with the tools and skills to excel in this burgeoning industry sector.
Participants make several benefits from successful completion of the programme, such as gaining new insights into what they can achieve as inspiration sport leaders. They can also acquire an enhanced ability to build high quality relationship with key internal and external stake holders.
They also interact with world-class faculty and gain from their knowledge and idea, as well as being a flexible residential workshop based programme schedule that fits with the demands of work.
Topics covered in the programme include finance and accounting, marketing and brand building strategic planning, even management, legacy of major events, human resource management, management of high performance programmes, broadcast and social media, and sponsorship.
