The Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives Abdullah Khalaf Al-Dossary has affirmed that Secretariat-Generals of legislative councils are basic and fundamental in supporting parliaments at effectively performing their monetary and legislative role, by providing the necessary support and services.
Al-Dossary highlighted the Secretariat-Generals' Administrative, legislative, research, legal, media and technical accumulated expertise and outstanding experiences at working in Islamic parliaments.
He pointed out the need for cooperation at exchanging expertise, activating training courses and on-going quest to present a parliamentary strategy so as to promote cooperation among Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC).
The Secretary-Generals of the Islamic Parliament met at the Tenth Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Turkey, Istanbul.
