His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at his Palace in Riffa today the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant-General Yussef bin Ahmed Al Jalahma and Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi.
HRH Premier congratulated Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi on his appointment as Chief of Staff, noting that Bahrainis, whether in the BDF or other sectors, have proved their outstanding capabilities and dedication in the service of the nation.
HRH the Prime Minister expressed pride in the advanced level reached by the BDF, in terms of weaponry, preparedness and training, thanks to the dedicated efforts of its Bahraini affiliates, affirming that the brave BDF staff who have dedicated themselves to defending the homeland and protecting its landmark achievements are a source of pride for all Bahrainis.
HRH Premier praised the security and stability enjoyed by the kingdom, and warned of terrorism, being the first enemy of stability .
Therefore the Kingdom must remain immune to terrorism, and we have full right to safeguard our country and its security using all means that are consistent with law and order, he said, adding that those who accept to remain hostage to the will of others, and accept to challenge their homeland by terrorism or incitement to it will be deterred by the law and given fair penalties.
HRH Premier expressed regret over the fact that evil plots and schemes are being carried out by individuals living among us, but have given up their patriotism and rushed behind illusions, like those running behind mirage.
He stressed that those seeking to impose their point of view by force have proved their utter failure, and urged those who falsely call for democracy at a time when the state guarantees it largely should start by themselves.
Denying the freedom of others in exercising their natural life and normal daily activities are in contradiction with basic principles of democracy and freedom, he explained.
The BDF Commander-in-Chief expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his constant support to the BDF, affirming keenness to implement the leadership’s directives to develop BDF units and train and rehabilitate its affiliates through providing them with the latest military equipment.
