Bahrain warned on Tuesday of attempts by some foreign powers to expand and exercise hegemony in the Mideast region.

Addressing the 145th meeting of the Arab League (AL), which started its activities earlier in the day in Cairo at the level of permanent delegates, Bahrain's Permanent 

Representative to the pan-Arab body Rashed bin Abdurrahman Al Khalifa called for standing up to such attempts, which seek to undermine security and foment sedition in the Middle 

East region.He expressed his country's support for an AL decision to reject any interference by Iran in the domestic affairs of Arab countries. 

"Bahrain supports the UAE in its bids to restore the three islands occupied by Iran," he said, adding that the Palestinian people have the right to establish an independent 

Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital.

Speaking about terrorism, the Bahraini envoy called for spreading the moderate teachings of Islam and promoting aspects of cooperation and development to fight this dangerous phenomenon.

The "Operation Renewal of Hope" contributed to maintaining security and stability of Yemen, he added
