BDF Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa patronised today a ceremony to honour an outstanding unit which clinched first place in a programme to test and assess combat and administrative readiness for the year 2014. The event is held on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of Bahrain Defence Force which is celebrated on February 5.
After a recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran, Joint Operations Director Brigadier Ghanim Ibrahim Al Fadhala gave a briefing on the programme. Then, the BDF Commander-in-Chief honoured the winning units which are the Royal Special Force and the Fourth Royal Armoured Infantry Regiment. After that, the flag of the winning Royal Special Force was hoisted.
The BDF Commander-in-Chief congratulated the winning units, praising their outstanding readiness and high competence which earned them top places in the programme. He said the achievement testifies to the capability and efficiency of the BDF personnel in carrying out duties assigned with them in all circumstances.
He hailed the BDF accomplishments as the dividend of continuous care and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also praised the unrelenting efforts of the BDF personnel in fulfilling their sacred duty of defending the nation. He underscored the importance of development and modernisation of BDF to carry out plans and achieve set up goals.
The celebration was attended by Defence Minister Lt. General Yousef bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, Chief of Staff Lt. General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Royal Guard Commander Colonel Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and senior officers.
