Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam, conveyed his greetings and sincere wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
The Lebanese Premier, during a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, on Friday evening on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, confirmed Lebanon’s keenness on Bahrain’s stability and security and reiterated rejection of the offensive statements against the Kingdom. He added Lebanon supports Bahrain’s stability and wishes the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of historical relations between the two countries and the need to protect them from any threat, stressing the rejection of any offences made by any party in Lebanon towards the Kingdom.
He added that these comments are considered an intrusive act in Bahrain's affairs, calling on the Lebanese government to assume its responsibility particularly that the offensive statements were made by a participant party in the Lebanese government. He stressed that the negative statements were an offence to Lebanon and its people first and foremost.
The two sides also discussed issues on the agenda of the Munich Security Conference.
