Bahraini FM Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed

Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa on Sunday met several senior officials from brotherly and friendly countries taking part in the 10th Manama Dialogue Summit.
They discussed ways of bolstering bilateral ties, regional and global developments and the challenges facing the international community. They also reviewed the need for immediate cooperation and urgent decisions to secure security and stability across the region and the world.
The Minister also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry. Shaikh Khalid reiterated the unwavering supportive stance of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Egypt and hailed the deep-rooted bilateral relations and the importance of advancing them to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The Minister also met Canadian counterpart, John Baird, lauding the friendship ties of cooperation between the two countries and expressing keenness on propelling them to more advanced levels.
During a meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Ibrahim Al-Jaffari, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, stressed Bahrain’s unflinching keenness to support whatever would pour into Iraq’ sovereignty and stability all over its territories.
The Minister also held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy, Lapo Pistelli, during which he commended the ever-growing bilateral relations and expressed the keen desire of both countries to further boost them in all domains.
The Minister also met with British Lords and Members of Parliament (MPs), praising the historically embedded relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom and the care they enjoy at popular and official levels.
During his meeting with the China Special Envoy of Middle East Issue and Head of Chinese Delegation, Ambassador Gong Xiao Sheng, the Minister underlined Bahrain’s keenness to further boost its relations with China in particular for the added value and strategic importance of strong bilateral relations.
The Minister has extended his sincere thanks to all the participants of the 10th Manama Dialogue Summit which was a suitable forum for holding such important meetings at such a delicate moment in the world history and amid huge dangers and threats posed to the international population which necessitate serious and comprehensive action to counter these threats.
The Minister stressed the importance of exchanging views and discussing current causes in the light of the complicated fast-paced developments in the region that impose const consultation and coordination to seek the right frameworks and suitable formulas for peaceful settlement of current disputes and crises through mutual understanding and dialogue.
