His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa lauded the tremendous efforts made by the supervisory committees of the parliamentary and municipal elections during the first and second rounds to achieve transparent results.
HM was speaking as he received at Sakhir Palace today President of the High Elections Supervisory Committee Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa and members. He thanked them for their key role in ensuring success of the elections, praising massive popular participation.
HM the King also commended the role of Bahrain judiciary in monitoring the electoral process and guaranteeing partiality and transparency. He described large participation in the elections as an index of high awareness and civilisation of the Bahraini people who have always shown keenness on assuming their national duties and exercising their constitutional rights.
HM stressed that the honourable results of the elections have cemented cohesion and unity of the Bahraini people and projected their civilisation and Arab and Islamic values. He voiced confidence in the Bahraini people's ability to continue the march of national building, stressing democracy as an unchangeable approach in Bahrain's policy.
