Minister of State for Defence Affairs Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa led the kingdom's delegation to the 12th Joint Defence Council of the GCC Defence Ministers, held here today.
The meeting focused on a number of issues aiming to activate joint cooperation and strengthening military and defence rapprochement and coordination among GCC states.
The Minister expressed delight at taking part in the meeting to in which ways of consolidating military cooperation and strengthening coordination among GCC countries are discussed, amid the challenges facing the region's security and stability.
He added that the meeting was in line with the GCC leaders' sound visions on the need to enhance joint GCC military action in order to ensure the continuity of the security, stability and prosperity march in the region.
The Kingdom's delegation included the Director of Planning, Organisation and Technology Rear Admiral Yussef Ahmed Malallah, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations Major-General Dheyab Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Assistant Commander of the Royal Bahrain Air Force Air Vice Marshal Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, and Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force Commodore Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
The Commander of the Royal Communications Brigadier-General Khalid Hassan Al-Ka'abi, Director of Military Cooperation Brigadier-General Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of Military Justice Yussef Rashid Flaifel also accompanied the Minister of State and a number of BDF senior officers.
