Bahrain’s Council of Representatives has expressed deep sorrow and regret over the sad demise of the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who passed away early this morning.
The council offered utmost condolences to the brotherly Saudi people, Arab and Islamic Nations, and said that "our consolation is in his successor King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and other leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)."
In a statement issued today, the Parliament affirmed that the late Saudi Monarch enjoys a distinguished position in the hearts of the Bahraini people for his remarkable and unforgettable stances in support of Bahrain.
It added that the Arab and Islamic Nations and the world had lost a great leader who had played a pivotal role in the Arab and Islamic history thanks to his tireless efforts to bring Arabs and Muslims together and care for the Two Holy sites.
It also affirmed that the GCC region had lost a great leader who had always defended and championed GCC interests, and called for the importance of Gulf unity to protect the region from external interference, stressing that he always remained an advocate of unity as the best means to counter sedition and threats.
