His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today paid a surprise field visit to the fuel tanks and electricity complex in Arad.
HRH Premier directed to begin transferring the fuel tanks to the Bahrain International Airport, in coordination with the competent sides, and ordered the necessary technical designs be prepared by specialists.
HRH Premier also instructed the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) to devise, in coordination with the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Ministry a comprehensive plan that allows taking advantage of the current site of the electricity complex to expand the exits of the areas adjacent to it, build underground water reservoirs, and using the remaining area to build a multi-purpose hall that serve Arad citizens.
He said the plan will serve the Arad citizens, on the one hand, and provide water reservoirs for the region.
This came as HRH Premier today paid a field visit to Arad region in the Muharraq Governorate, in line with his constant keenness to follow up closely on the citizens’ needs and meet them.
HRH Premier was informed by the MP and municipal council member of the region about the situation in the area surrounding the fuel tanks and the electricity complex, as well as the citizens’ needs regarding service, infrastructure and housing projects.
He said that a specilised ministerial committee had already been assigned with coordinating with the competent sides to put forward an executive plan to relocate the fuel tanks as soon as possible.
He also highlighted his directives to EWA to develop a plan on the electricity and water projects in Arad in a way that preserves the environment, ensures the safety of the citizens, and allows the expansion of services so that the local citizens can enjoy the best quality government services.
HRH the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s keenness to listen to the citizens and meet their expectations, stressing that it will spare no effort to provide all the requirements of decent living for them, out of its belief that the citizens are the goal of development.
"The citizens’ voices are heard, and all doors are kept open for them to voice their aspirations which we meet timely. We all work together for the good of the homeland and its people," he said.
"We are all ears to the citizens’ complaints and remarks, and we are keen to ensure their comfort and access to government services in their residential areas. Therefore, all development projects in all regions are implemented according to the latest world health and environmental standards.
He stressed that all goal of every government effort is to achieve the well-being of the citizens, noting that infrastructure projects aim to facilitate the citizens’ daily life.
He underscored the government’s constant desire to ensure sufficient projects and services across the kingdom within its strategy aiming to achieve equal and comprehensive development for the citizens in all regions.
MP Ali bin Yaqoob Al-Muqla and Municipal Council member Sabah Rashid Al-Dossary extended utmost thanks and deep gratitude to HRH Premier for his visit to Arad to be informed about the region’s service needs, and directives to the officials to meet them.
They said that the citizens of Arad, as well as others across the kingdom’s citizens and villages, credit HRH Premier for the urban boom witnessed by the kingdom, citing the Arad Housing Project.
Arad citizens extended sincere thanks, gratitude and appreciation to HRH Premier for the directives he had issued during the visit, asserting that they had filled their hearts with joy.
