The body of Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat - who was killed in a terror attack on Monday - arrived Tuesday at Mosque of Field Marshal Tantawi in New Cairo in preparation for a military funeral after noon prayers.

MENA correspondent said security was tightened inside and outside the mosque since the wee hours of Tuesday.

Cairo Security Chief Osama Bedeir and Assistant Interior Minister for Central Security Forces Medhat el Menshawy inspected security measures in the mosque vicinity.

Assistant Interior Minister Medhat Qreitam reviewed traffic arrangements for transferring the body from the mosque to its resting place.

Barakat was killed on Monday in a terror attack. Eight other people were injured in the attack.
