parliamentary elections in Egypt

A poll conducted by the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research (Baseera) showed that 48 percent of Egyptians reject the participation of religious parties in the parliamentary elections compared to 29 percent who agree.

Meanwhile, about 23 percent can not determine their position.

The Head of Baseera Maged Osman said that three of every four Egyptians intend to take part in the parliamentary polls compared to 12 percent who will not participate, while 10 percent of them have not decided yet.

The poll was conducted by using both mobile phones and landlines on a sample of 1,545 citizens aged 18 years old and above, and covering all governorates from September 9-10.
