Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir

Sudanese President Omar al Bashir will take the constitutional oath on June 2, a leading member of the ruling party said on Tuesday.

Bashir won the presidential elections for a new five-year term collecting 94.5 percent of the votes, the electoral commission said.

More than 13.1 million Sudanese were eligible to vote in the polls, adding the turnout of the vote reached 46.4 percent.

Bashir won about 5.3 million votes, while Federal Truth Party's Fadl Shoaib won only 1.4 percent of the vote.
