Alexandria Port authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle 30 tons of banned fireworks into the country.
Port officials received a tip that a container coming from China held cargo different than what its owner had declared.
Upon searching the shipment, security forces discovered that it was in fact filled with huge amount of the banned firecrackers.
The fireworks were confiscated and the prosecution was notified to launch a probe.
