An explosion occurred near a dormitory in the agricultural area in Lattakia earlier Tuesday, killing and wounding many, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

Opposition fighters, meanwhile, targeted gatherings of regime troops in Talet al Sheikh Mohamed on Kurd Mountains in the northern countryside of Lattakia, Sky News said quoting an SOHR statement.

No word of casualties has so far been reported.

The SOHR also said that regime helicopters are striking areas in al Fouah and Kafria town in Idleb, noting that two towns are surrounded by elements of the Al Nusra Front.
