The body of police officer, who was killed by militants, was found in North Sinai after being killed apparently by his abductors, the army's spokesman said on Tuesday.
The spokesman said 10 Takfiri militants were killed in areas where the officer went missing.
The ten were killed in an exchange of fire, he said, adding heavy weapons, bombs and ammunition were seized.
The security campaign was launched in the areas of Arish, Sheikh Zuwaid and Rafah.
