A blast hit a private car on Saturday near the 9th district of Giza's Sixth of October City, an interior ministry official source said.
Explosives experts and civil protection officers rushed to the scene immediately, the source added.
The source said the car was damaged but no casualties were reported.
Security forces combed the surroundings of the blast in search for any other explosives.
