Security forces dismantled a homemade bomb planted on the rail tracks on the Cairo-Alexandria line in Menoufia on Saturday.
The suspicious object in Berket El Sabaa village was reported to the authorities, forcing them to halt an arriving train.
Bomb disposal teams sealed off the area before defusing the bomb. No casualties were reported.
The area was combed for other explosives and the train movement was back to normal after a 30-minute stoppage.
