An explosive device went off outside a church in Fayyoum on Saturday, causing no casualties.

The bomb was planted in the vicinity of Mar Girgis Church in Tamiya city.

Police rushed to the scene and sappers combed the area for possible threats.

A manhunt was launched to arrest the culprits and the prosecution was notified.
