The Cabinet, under Prime Minster Sherif Ismail, agreed on Thursday to extend the deadline for implementing the social housing project.

During its weekly meeting, the Cabinet, as part of implementing the state's economic and social development plan, also allowed direct order contracts with construction companies which proved to show serious commitment to implement housing projects.

According to the cabinet's decision, the contractors must be members in the federation of Egyptian contractors.
