The Cabinet, under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, approved on its weekly meeting Wednesday a draft resolution to fight illegal immigration.

The draft resolution will see the launch of a media campaign to warn citizens about the risks of illegal immigration.

According to the resolution, a national coordinating committee for combating and preventing illegal immigration is planned to be formed.

Penalties on illegal immigration-related offenses are stipulated in the draft resolution.
