Egyptian parliament

The Cabinet operations room on Tuesday started following up the runoff elections of the second phase of parliamentary polls.

The operations room, led by General Hamdy Helmi, the official in charge of the Information and Decision Support Center(IDSC), General Osama Singer, the Board Chairman of the Crisis Management Center and delegates from the ministries of defense, interior, local development, health, electricity, transport, planning, the Egyptian Ambulance Authority and the Intelligence Service.

The second phase of parliamentary elections covers the 13 governorates of Cairo, Qalioubiya, Daqahliya, Menoufiya, Gharbiya, Kafr el Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai.

Some 27.5 million voters are eligible to cast their vote in the second stage compared to 25.5 million in the first stage.
