The Cairo Criminal Court declared on Sunday the reasons behind a verdict it issued recently political activist Alaa Abdel Fattah and others.
The court has sentenced Abdel Fattah and another defendant to five years in jail.
It fined them EGP 100,000 each. They were convicted of assaulting police during a violent protest.
