Cairo Criminal Court on Tuesday adjourned the trial of 213 elements of Beit al Maqdes terrorist organization to September 15.
The defendants are facing charges of carrying out more than 54 terrorist attacks, including assassination of policemen, attempted assassination of former interior minister Mohammad Ibrahim, explosions of police facilities as well as security directorates in Cairo, Daqahliya and South Sinai.
The court reviewed evidence related to the case which included a number of mobile phones, USBs, firearms and ammunition.
Late prosecutor general counselor Hesham Barakat had previously ordered the referral of the defendants to criminal court.
