Cairo Governor Galal el-Saeed said on Tuesday that street vendors would be relocated in Torgoman parking lot in downtown Cairo within 10 days.
"The parking lot accommodates 1,750 peddlers who will be moved in two phases," he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and the Cairo governor inspected the area.
The vendors would sell their goods in Torgoman area temporarily until setting up a huge marketplace in the Wabour el-Talg area.
