The Court of Cassation upheld during a session on Monday a ruling issued by the Criminal Court sentencing activist Alaa Abdel Fattah and his sister Mona along with three others for one year in prison with suspending the sentence for three years.

They were condemned in the case of burning the election headquarter of former presidential candidate Ahmed Shafiq in 2012.

The prosecution also charged them with protesting, attacking citizens property and using violence.
