Beirut - KUNA
A Cautious calm prevailed on Wednesday in the outskirts of Ras Baalbek in northeastern Lebanon after clashes erupted between the army and militants on Tuesday night. The army fired artillery shells toward these outskirts where militants hide, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The Army carried out security measures on its checkpoints along Baalbek highway towards the Syrian border.
At least six personnel were killed by militants in Ras Baalbek's area as the army fired artillery shells at the vicinity of that area, NNA said.
Militants hole up in mountainous areas and carried out several assaults on the army in Arsal, Ras Baalbek and several places, killing many personnel.
