Chad's Ambassador to Cairo Hassan Adam

Chad's Ambassador to Cairo Hassan Adam hailed Egypt's pivotal role in the region given its vision to draw up plans to combat terrorism.

In statements on the sidelines of the conference of the defense ministers from the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) which is being held in Sharm el Sheikh, Adam said that his country hosted this conference before, adding that several countries attended the conference in order to enhance cooperation among member states and discuss the difficulties related to confronting terrorist groups like ''Boko Haram''. 

The ambassador, meanwhile, said that the borders are important in preserving the security in the region. 

Regarding the formation of joint forces from the CEN-SAD, the ambassador said that this issue will be discussed in the upcoming sessions in order to form the best security system which helps attain the goals of this conference. 

Participants in the conference are discussing how to find a mechanism to implement a joint security system between CEN-SAD members, he added. 

Talking about Egypt's role, the ambassador said that his country welcomed Egypt's host to this conference, adding that "we are in need of benefiting from Egypt's expertise and its role in attaining development and stability in the African continent".
