Chief of the Third Police Station in Arish Gaber el Saeed was injured in his leg Tuesday.

A sniper targeted Saeed from the rooftop of an adjacent building, a security source told MENA, noting that the chief was on the rooftop of the police station himself.

He is now receiving treatment at the Arish Military Hospital, the source added.

On Sunday, a bomb-laden vehicle exploded near the Third Police Station, killing eight policemen and a civilian and wounding about 40 others.

The police station was partially damaged, as well as nearby houses.
