The Director of China's State Council Information Office (SCIO) Jiang Jianguo reitereated on Thursday his country's desire to foster cooperation with Egypt in all domains, saying Egypt and China have a joint destiny but just need to open up more to each other.
In an interview with Egyptian TV program "Good Morning Egypt", the minister said Chinese President
XI Jinping's visit to Egypt is carrying a message of the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation.
About the agreements to be signed between the Egyptian and Chinese leaders, he said they will sign a number of agreements in the political, economic and media domains, especially the one on the maritime and land Silk Road.
The Silk Road will link China all countries located on the road in a bid to achieve security and stability.
Also, cooperation between the two countries in the energy domain will be furthered, he added.
Xi arrived in Cairo late Wednesday on the first visit of a Chinese president to Egypt in 12 years. The Chinese president is on a Middle East tour which includes also Saudi Arabia and Iran.
On Wednesday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a dinner banquet for the Chinese president and his accompanying delegation at Abdeen Palace where musical and artistic shows were presented.
Xi toured the palace to see the antiques of Mohamed Ali Family.
