Chinese Special Envoy for Middle East peace process Wu Sike affirmed on Sunday that his country welcomed Egypt's ceasefire initiative in Gaza.
He said that he believed the initiative would be in the interest of the Palestinian people and other parties involved under the current circumstances.
Wu was speaking in a press conference held at the Chinese embassy in Jordan as part of his Middle East tour.
Military intervention will never solve the issues in Palestine and the whole region, he concluded.
