The Awqaf (Endowments) Ministry announced that consultations are underway with Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to appoint a figure to head the Egyptian Awqaf Authority.
A group of leaders in the engineering, administrative and legal fields from outside the authority will work in it to implement huge projects, according to a statement by the Awqaf Ministry on Saturday.
The authority will also benefit from the enthusiasm of the youth working in it along with the leaders, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar accepted the resignation of former head of the Egyptian Awqaf Authority Salah Genedi and assigned the duties of the post to Samir el-Shal until the Egyptian president appoints a new head for the authority as stipulated by the law.
