The Cairo Criminal Court on Saturday recused the trial of 76 defendants over charges of sparking off violence in the surroundings of Azhar University.
The case was referred to the Cairo Appeal Court to consider the case after the judge recused himself from the trial.
The defendants are facing charges of sparking off violence, attacking policemen and setting on fire a building of the Faculty of Commerce in Azhar University.
