Alexandria Criminal Court sentenced to ten years in prison the engineer of the apartment building that collapsed in Loran district in 2007.

Another engineer was also jailed five years by the court in the case known in the media as the "collapse of the death building".

Some 36 persons were killed and 3 others wounded in the collapse of the building.

This is the retrial of the defendants.

In the first trial, the owner of the building was sentenced to 17 years in jail over charges of manslaughter and forging license papers while the two engineers were sentenced to 10 years.

Then the Cassation court accepted their appeal and ordered a retrial.
