An administrative court ruled Tuesday that Tiran and Sanafir islands are Egyptian and fall within the country’s borders.

The court issued a ruling suspending the enforcement of a maritime border demarcation agreement signed between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, under which the two islands were moved to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty.

A number of lawyers had filed a lawsuit against the controversial agreement signed between the two countries this year.
