Daesh terrorist group has killed 50 of its own members for "their escape" from a battle with Iraqi troops in Baiji.

They were convicted by a Sharia law court of committing treason, said a local center for organization affairs.

Meantime, a chieftain was executed by the terrorist group. Abdul Karim al Lahib had been held by Daesh in Mosul before his execution.

Mosul, Iraq's second largest, is controlled by the group.
