As many as 38,600 Egyptians entered Egypt from Libya via the Salloum border crossing over the past two months, said the Matrouh security chief on Saturday.

El Ananai Hamouda added that in the past 24 hours 110 people have entered Egypt through the crossing point.

Chaos in the war-torn Libya prompted thousands of Egyptians to return home.
