Death Egyptian pilgrims

The death toll among Egyptian pilgrims rose to two after a female pilgrim died Friday in Medina, chairman of the Egyptian Hajj mission Sayed Maher said.

Bekhita Nassar, 67, from Suez, died of a sharp drop in blood pressure, Maher said.

She was buried in Medina after taking the permission of her relatives, he added.

Maher noted that the airlift carrying Egyptian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia is still on.

Early in the day, the Egyptian Health Ministry announced the first death among Egyptian pilgrims. A 72-year-old man from Cairo named Samir Shaaban died due to a sharp drop in blood pressure, the ministry said.
