The death toll among Egyptian pilgrims rose to five after a pilgrim died in Mecca, chairman of the Egyptian Hajj mission Sayed Maher said on Monday.

Mohamed el Sayed Abdel Hamid, 60, from Alexandria, died of complications from liver cancer, Maher said.

He was buried in Mecca after taking the permission of his wife, he added.

Early, the Egyptian Health Ministry announced that there are four deaths among Egyptian pilgrims.
