Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Bassem Khalil hailed the distinguished political ties between Egypt and Hungary.

He, meanwhile, voiced hope of promoting efforts to promote economic cooperation and joint investments.

Delivering a speech during the Egyptian-Hungarian Business Council on Wednesday, Khalil hailed Hungary's supportive stance for the political process in Egypt after the June 30 Revolution along with the measures taken to confront terror threat.

He also pointed out to the meetings held between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban last June in Budapest and the business council which was held on the sidelines of the visit.

He also said that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry paid a visit to Hungary last April along with the visit held by his Hungarian counterpart to Egypt last month.

Khalil further said that the Hungarian delegation attended the Egypt Economic Development Conference, which was held in Sharm el Sheikh last March.

He also voiced hope of increasing the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Hungary, urging the Egyptian side to work on increasing Egypt's exports to Hungary.
