Al Gamaaa al Islamiyya leader Essam Derbala

Egypt's Forensic Medical Authority on Sunday said the family of Al Gamaaa al Islamiyya leader Essam Derbala has recognized that his death had no criminal suspicion.

In a statement, Spokesman of the authority Hesham Abdel Hameed said the family refused to autopsy his body.

The statement confirmed that the body was free from manifestations that indicate any criminal act.

Derbala, the chief of Al Gamaaa al Islamiyya died on Sunday in al Aqrab jail due to fever and high blood pressure.

He was detained on May 13 over charges of belonging to a pro-Muslim Brotherhood's alliance that was outlawed by a court verdict along with inciting violence and terrorism.
