Kafr el Sheikh Governor Major General Sayed Ibrahim Nasr on Friday ordered the payment of EGP 10,000 to families of each of the 15 persons who drowned when their ferryboat capsized in the Nile River on Thursday.

Each of the injured will receive EGP 5,000.

Fifteen bodies were pulled out of water earlier Friday.

Two people were injured in the accident.

A mother and her three children were identified among the victims.

The ferry was transferring people between two towns in Kafr el Sheikh and Behaira governorates when the accident occurred.
