Egypt's Ambassador in Beirut Mohamed Zayed met on Tuesday with Leader of the Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement Michel Aoun.

Zayed said Egypt is eager to cooperate with all Lebanese parties, according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry.

He called for supporting the state institutions and choosing a new president to face current challenges in the region, atop of which is terrorism.

Zayed urged the Lebanese parties to engage in a dialogue to protect the country against threats and meet the aspirations of the Lebanese people.
