Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Nazih el-Nagary met Wednesday with a number of Lebanese officials to discuss cooperation between the two countries in various fields, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
El-Nagary met with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tammam Salam, former Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri and former President Michel Suleiman, the statement added.
The statement added that the Egyptian envoy also met with a number of Lebanese ministers and public figures.
During the meetings, bilateral relations between Egypt and Lebanon, and cooperation in the areas of health and industry were discussed, el-Nagary said.
The latest developments in Lebanon, mainly the presidency issue, were also discussed during el-Nagary’s meetings with the Lebanese officials.
The statement said that the Egyptian envoy also received a delegation of the Coptic Catholic Church in Beirut.
