Egypt's Ambassador to Lebanon Mohamed Badr el-Din met Thursday with Lebanon’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian.
The meeting touched on boosting cooperation between Al-Azhar and Lebanese Dar el-Fatwa, a statement by Egypt's foreign ministry reads.
The ambassador welcomed the participation of Lebanon in the planned Islamic- Christian Dialogue conference, organized by Al-Azhar next month.
Derian, for his part, hailed Al-Azhar as pioneering and avant-garde moderate Islam model.
