The Armed Forces stressed that the air raids launched at dawn of Monday were total surprise and precisely succeeded in crushing the camps of Daesh militant group in Libya.
"The successful air raids of our Air Forces came to retaliate the martyrs of flagrant terrorism and they came to prove that the Armed Forces is the shield that protects homeland and a sword that amputates terrorism and extremism," a military source said.
Egypt raided the camps, the training positions and ammunition warehouses of Daesh in Libya at dawn of Monday in retaliation for the beheading of 21 Copts by the militant group.
Following the video released by the group that showed the beheading of the 21 Copts, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that his country reserved the right to punish these murderers at the right time and in the right way he sees fit for retribution and called a meeting of security chiefs.
Egypt declared seven days of mourning after the video was released.
