Paris - MENA
Egypt has pressed for action to counter the Daesh terrorist organization in line with international law.
The Iraqi government should honor its commitments to involve the Sunni community in the political process and conduct reforms, a statement by deputy foreign minister Hamdy Sanad said Tuesday.
Sanad said Egypt is willing to provide support and training for the Iraqi Armed Forces.
He was addressing a meeting of the mini group of foreign ministers of member-states of the international alliance against Daesh, which was held in the French capital earlier Tuesday.
He stressed the importance of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria and stopping money and arms supply to Daesh.
Action is also needed to stop many terrorists from joining Daesh and affiliated groups.
Sanad reviewed Egypt's efforts, through its Al Azhar and Iftaa House, to counter extremist ideologies promoted by Daesh and other terrorist organizations.
The meeting today focused on efforts exerted to face Daesh and dry up its financial resources.
