Egypt is the center of Arabism and the beating heart of Islam, Al Azhar Islamic Research Academy Secretary General Mohi Afifi said

Al Azhar, as a global educational and preaching institution concerned with spreading moderate thinking, appreciates the vital role of intellectuals and thinkers in embodying human values, Afifi said during a meeting he attended on behalf of Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayeb with a delegation of the Egyptian Association for Friends of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on Thursday.

Al Azhar is keen to broaden the bridges of communication with all cultures and civilizations through the tours he had made to different world countries, including a historic one to the Vatican, Afifi said.
