Cairo - MENA
Egypt is following up with deep concern developments in occupied East Jerusalem, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
Cairo reiterates rejection of all forms of violence and provocative practices that aim to impose facts on the ground, the statement said.
Violence only leads to an escalation in the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, the statement said, warning of a vicious circle of fighting that can hinder efforts to resume peace talks.
Egypt presses for quick action to reach a comprehensive, just solution to the Palestinian problem based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, the statement added.
